Did you know coffee has more flavor compounds than wine? Coffee has thousands of chemical compounds that make up numerous flavors; while wine sums to about 200.
With thousands of flavors to discover, coffee is far more complex than the black, bitter drink I once thought it was. I started drinking coffee in college, relying on sugary drinks to power through exams. One Christmas, my now wife gifted me an espresso machine, sparking a deep dive into the world of coffee. Inspired by experts like James Hoffmann and Lance Hedrick, I explored brewing, and eventually, roasting. What began as a hobby turned into a passion for the intricate science of roasting.
